THE
CENTER FOR GLOBAL EDUCATION AND EXCHANGE
(THE GLOBAL CENTER)
Recognizing the need for crossing boundaries, both physical and
psychological, Kyushu Lutheran College has established The Center for
Global Education and Exchange to promote global education and exchange
in a variety of ways.
The work of the Center includes organizing and implementing special
lectures, films and discussions both for the school community and
the community at large. Resources with cross cultural themes are available
in the Center.
Programs focusing on Japanese life and culture, centered in the Kyushu
area can be organized foe institutions from abroad.
THE CROSS-CULTURAL PRACTICUM
Assisting
students to do their Cross-cultural Practicum is a major responsibility
of the Global Center. The Practicum is required of all students. It
may be an academic, intern or volunteer experience, or a combination.
It may be done only at institutions with which Kyushu Lutheran College
has partnerships. The staff of the Global Center, in consultation
with the students' advisors and the partner institutions, help the
students wisely plan and prepare for their global experience. The
Center is in close communication with the partner institutions tracking
the activities while the students are abroad.
