KYUSHU LUTHERAN COLLEGE
Kyushu Lutheran College was founded as a co-educational liberal
arts institution in 1997. It seeks to continue the heritage of the seventy-five
year old Kyushu Junior and Senior High Schools and Kyushu Jogakuin kindergarten,
with whom it shares a campus. The College's predecessor, Kyushu Jo Gakuin
College graduated its last class in 1998.
MISSION
At the advent of the twenty-first century and the era of post-modernity,
the mission of Kyushu Lutheran College is to:
Inherit the mission of gratitude and service from the
past,
Interpret that mission in the context of new challenges,
Implement creative curriculum and programs to meet the needs of its
student as they go into a new world.
Within a post-modern society, it is imperative to retain the humanities,
which have been fundamental to the liberal arts college. More than ever,
people must realize the importance of human relations through interdependence
and cooperation. It is in the liberal arts college that this awareness
can be nurtured into action.
